In order to make further progress in the development of new technologies applied to Pervasive Developmental Disorder and encouraging the emergence of new support tools in the sessions and therapies that help and motivate children with special needs to improve their learning needs, Fundación Planeta Imaginario has established partnerships with some special Education Centers in Barcelona.
After working with AbaPlanet as a tool for skills already learnt in Special Schools, many children are accelerating their rhythm of learning new vocabulary or starting receptive language learning with their first words.
Moreover, in some cases this is being autonomous. It means that while the teacher is working with another case or activity, he/she can remain in the classroom working with the App or, what really matters: learning.
Another important detail is that to ensure consistency of acquired vocabulary, Professionals have tested generalization using the words learned in the app in different contexts and people: for example, asking to the child to go and take the pencil, or showing a group of images and asking: where is the chair?Tests made to observe the effectiveness of the work and the consistency of new learning.
Do you want to know more about ABAPLANET?
AbaPlanet is a very powerful and specialized application, focused on learning basic vocabulary and pre necessary knowledge as, for example, object recognition.
Designed by experts, it has everything you need to get to the correct learning: based awards, grants (adapted to different profiles), an intelligent system that takes decisions depending on the child's responses by increasing or decreasing the difficulty) activities etc. Much more information on the page www.abaplanet.com/en/ .
After some months of this partnership, the different centers gathered enough data to assess the use of AbaPlanet as a support tool in their classes.
COMMITMENTS AND INTERESTS
From Fundación Planeta Imaginario we are committed to those centers and professionals (also with families and children) who are interested in being able to integrate the App within their learning tools and we hope that these agreements benefit the entire group of professional and families that day after day are working to enhance the learning intervention from children with special educational needs.
